Im "Digital Fernsehen" (11/2004) gibt es ein Interview mit Leiter für Technik Media & Broadcast bei T-Systems(Dieter Ohrndorf). Er sagt, dass alle Spiele im Format 16:9 produziert, übertragen und verteilt werden.

Die Frage ist bereits beantwortet, schon seit Anfang 2004.

Die WM 2006 in Deutschland wird im 16:9 Format produziert und ausgestrahlt, etwas anderes gibt es nicht mehr, der Vertrag zwischen der FIFA und Philips ist in diesem Falle sonnenklar.

Schließlich zahlt Philips als einer der wenigen Hauptsponsoren eine ganze Stange Geld dafür, da wird dann ab 2005 ein gigantischer Werbefeldzug für das 16:9 Format gestartet, von allen Herstellern, außerdem sind die Plasma- oder LCD-Fernseher sonst wohl nicht an den Mann zu bringen, die kosten ja schließlich eine Menge Geld.

Also, WM 2006 nur in 16:9, alles andere ist Vergangenheit.

Daß ARD und ZDF hierzu noch nichts sagen ist doch ein klarer Fall, die wollen es sich nicht mit der Blödzeitung verderben, nach dem Motto: "erst wollen die höhere Gebühren und dann muß ich mir auch noch einen neuen Fernseher kaufen", so läuft nun mal im Schnarcherland Deutschland.

Das wäre richtig schön, wenn 16:9 nächstes Jahr richtig in Schwung kommen würde. Mir ist ja aufgefallen das Pro Sieben in letzter Zeit auch einiges in nicht anamorphen 16:9 oder wie auch immer man das nun nennen will übertragt, z.B. Terraluna, oder auch den gescheiterten Hire or Fire Mist. Wäre es schön wenn ein großer umschwung kommt.

Bisher haben die öR. keine HDTV Rechte an der Fußball WM gekauft.

In mehreren Interviews wurde schon gesagt, dass ARD/ZDF keine Spiele in HDTV übertragen wird.

Over and above the HDTV coverage of the FIFA flagship event in Germany - which was announced at the end of 2003, a historical milestone in terms of coverage and delivery, - HBS is preparing several innovations that will impact the majority of broadcasters from around the globe.

At the 15th edition of Sportel-Monaco, and after a much appreciated presentation made by Markus Siegler, Head of FIFA Communication, Francis Tellier, CEO of HBS, presented the details of the 2006 Production Plan, with emphasis on the improvements related to the Multi-Feed Concept which was successfully introduced by HBS in 2002.

The Super Feeds delivered in 2002 will be kept. The Extended Basic International Feed (EBIF) - renamed the "EBIF Show" to underline that it is a turn key programme - will provide broadcasters with a full pre-match and post-match programme, including features on all 32 qualified teams, key players, host cities etc …To be noted that it will be produced from within the HBS Production Centre at the International Broadcast Centre that HBS is building and managing in Munich.

The Extended Stadium Feed (ESF) which will ensure live coverage from the stadium, starting 30 minutes before kick off. The ESF is produced in HDTV 16/9 with a minimum of 23 HD cameras per match. A "clean" version is also available.
<li> Two supplementary feeds - "Team A and Team B feeds" - added to the 2 produced in 2002, making a total of 4 "Team A & Team B" feeds:
2 focused on the reactions from the benches, the substitutes warming up - along the lines of the 2002 “Team A and Team B” feeds.
2 Player-Cams feeds, following key players of the match, 1 dedicated feed per team The full chart of the feeds can be found in the Production section on the HBS website.

On the subject of audio delivery, a detailed plan will soon be presented: HBS has already made known that there will again be multi sound channels for the ESF.

With this enhanced production plan, HBS is capitalizing on the innovations introduced in 2002 which helped different categories of broadcasters to greatly improve the programmes offered to their audiences and pushes the envelope of host broadcasting even further, in particular, by integrating the suggestions made by certain Broadcast Partners interviewed for the Customer satisfaction survey made after the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ Korea/Japan (the results of which were presented by HBS at SportelMonaco 2002).

In addition, in answer to a question from the audience, Francis Tellier confirmed that HBS has been selected – within a 50/50 joint venture with its partner, TWI – to be the Host Broadcaster of the Asian Games - Doha 2006. The two companies have created a dedicated subsidiary, DAGBS – Doha Asian Games Broadcast Services – the CEO of which is Francis Tellier and the President William Sinrich.

A specific DAGBS website is presently under construction, to provide up-to-date information on the broadcast operations of the Games - which include more sports than the Olympics - as well as a job recruitment section.
