Im April schlossen World Snooker und IMG mit Eurosport einen 10-Jahresvertrag bis zur Saison 2025/2026 über die Senderechte der Main-Tour. Dieser Vertrag beinhaltet die Exklusivrechte für 18 Turniere (inklusive der neuen Home-Series mit den Welsh Open, English Open, Scottish Open und Irish Open, den Indian Open, dem Paul Hunter Classic, der 6-Reds-Weltmeisterchaft und dem Shoot-Out). Außerdem wird ab 2017 zum ersten Mal auch die Qualifikation zur WM im Fernsehen gezeigt.

Die Umsetzung des Vertrages zog sich noch hin, da nicht alle Feinheiten bei Vertragsabschluss geregelt waren. Doch jetzt scheint alles bereit zu sein. Die Spiele mit dem Sternchen* werden im Fernsehen zu sehen sind, die anderen nur im Eurosport Player:

Wilson Allays Blood Clot Fears
Kyren Wilson is fit to fly to next week’s Indian Open despite concerns over a possible blood clot in his left leg.
The world number 16 from Kettering pulled out of last week’s Kaspersky Riga Masters after suffering from swelling in his leg and foot.
But the Shanghai Masters champion has no intention of missing a second consecutive ranking event and will be on the plane to Hyderabad for the Indian Open which starts on Tuesday.
The Indian Open runs from July 5 to 9 and features top stars including Shaun Murphy, Stuart Bingham and Jimmy White

Yushan Set To Stage World Open
A press conference took place in Beijing on Sunday to officially begin the build up to the 2016 Hanteng Autos World Open in Yushan, China.
This tournament, which will run from July 25-31, will mark a piece of history for Yushan as it is the first time that this location in the Jiangxi Province will stage a professional snooker tournament.
The World Open ranking event makes a welcome return to the calendar as it was last staged two years ago in Haikou, when Shaun Murphy won the title. This time the players will be competing for a top prize of £90,000. Murphy, World Champion Mark Selby, John Higgins, Judd Trump, Neil Robertson and China’s top player Ding Junhui will be among the stars in action.
WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson made a speech at the press conference and paid thanks to title sponsor Hanteng Autos, the CBSA, Star, CCTV, the Jiangxi Province Government, the Shangrai Municipal Government and the Yushan Municipal Government.

Press Conference Launches Indian Open
All players competing in the Indian Open attended a press conference on Monday to officially launch the world ranking event in Hyderabad.
Speeches were made by WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson, BSFI President Cap PVK Mohan and Shaun Murphy. This was followed by an exhibition match between defending champion Michael White and Indian ace Pankaj Advani, and then a banquet. The tournament starts on Tuesday.

Champion White Makes Early Exit
Reigning champion Michael White was a round one casualty on the opening day of the Indian Open in Hyderabad. He suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Anthony Hamilton.

The “Sheriff of Pottingham” set the tone early on, making 125 in the opener and taking a scrappy second to go 2-0 up. White Hamilton looked to hit back with 61 in the third, but the Welshman struggled to get a foothold in the game. Hamilton snatched a crucial fourth frame on the black and went on to claim a 4-1 victory.

Murphy and Williams Safely Through
Shaun Murphy and Mark Williams secured places in the last 32 on the second day of the Indian Open in Hyderabad. Breaks of 65, 46 and 44 helped the 2005 World Champion Murphy to a 4-1 win over Daniel Wells.
Williams overcame illness problems to see off China’s Zhang Yong. The two-time Crucible winner had suggested on social media that he may have to withdraw from the event. However, he took to the baize and after some tight opening frames, he took control of the match. At 2-1 ahead, Williams produced breaks of 60 and 67 to see himself through with a 4-1 win.
