also nochmal was ich gerade heute morgen vor 5 Minuten in den USA zur Olympia Berichterstattung gelesen habe:


The NBC HD Olympics coverage will begin at 9pm ET Friday 8/13/04.

- HD Coverage will be delayed approximately 24 hours, and typically consist of an unique (not from the analog network) 8 hour segment, aired three times each day. The primary exception is the Opening Ceremonies, which will air the same day. See the schedule topic below for details.

- Most local NBC digital affiliates will carry HD Olympics coverage. I would suggest calling your local NBC station if they do not carry the HD coverage.

- Most local cableco's that carry NBC HDTV will carry HD Olympics coverage.

- It's not expected the DBS providers will activate the channels listed below until just prior to the 8pm ET Friday 8/13/04 start time. Not all DBS subscribers will be eligible to receive the HD Olympics, see the respective topics for details.

- DirecTV will have special events coverage on ch 84.
- Dish Network will have special events coverage on ch 148 and 9425.
- Voom will have special events coverage on ch 321.

Agreement Includes Rights to Distribute 2004 NBC HD Olympic Coverage and
Bravo HD+



Englewood Cliffs, NJ and El Segundo, CA - July 28, 2004 - NBC Universal Cable
(NBCU) and DIRECTV, Inc., today announced a long-term multi-platform
carriage agreement for the NBC Universal Cable properties, including USA and
SCI FI, digital retransmission consent for the NBC O&O stations rights to
distribute NBC's HD Olympic programming for the upcoming Athens games,
Bravo HD+, as well as rights to carry first-run Universal movie titles and NBC
Universal specials and events on a pay-per-view basis. In addition, contracts
for Bravo, Telemundo and Mun2 were renewed and extended. DIRECTV and
NBCU already have long-term deals in place for carriage of CNBC, MSNBC,
CNBC World and the Olympics. This marks the first all encompassing affiliate
agreement for NBC Universal Cable with one of the top distributors since the
closure of the Vivendi merger.

"DIRECTV has always been a valued partner," said David Zaslav, president,
NBC Universal Cable. "Through this agreement we were able to secure
distribution for our two newest networks, USA and SCI-FI, digital
retransmission for the NBC O&O stations, deliver on DIRECTV's request for
more high-quality HD programming by providing them with NBC's special 2004
HD Olympic coverage and Bravo HD+ and provide them with Universal's first-
run movies and specials to run on pay-per-view. We are committed to
providing our distribution partners with the programming that they need to
drive their businesses."

DISH Network is proud to announce the Olympics will be offered in HDTV on NBC to select DISH Network customers from August 13th through August 30th. NBC will provide High Definition coverage, marking the first time this has been done by a U.S. broadcaster at a summer Olympics.
Coverage includes; swimming, diving, gymnastics, track and field, medal rounds of basketball and the men's soccer gold medal final.

This coverage will be located on Channel 148 and Channel 9425. The coverage will be available to customers who live within authorized areas, and also have a DISH 811, DISH Player - DVR 921, Model 6000u or a Model 6000 receiver with the HD enhanced adapter and a DISH 500 antenna.

Naja, die ÖR senden ja noch nicht mal in 16:9 und DD ( von HDTV will ich garnicht sprechen )

Das 16:9 und DD Signal steht allen Sendern zur Verfuegung OHNE dafuer extra zahlen zu muessen.

Danke an Cable DX, jetzt wissen wir definitiv, dass in den USA Olympia in HDTV zu sehen ist. Ich fordere das auch für Europa! Wo leben wir denn eigentlich?????
Ich habe einfach keine Lust, mir die Eröffnung heute abend in 4:3 anzusehen.
Da habe ich gutes Porzellan in meinem Küchenschrank und soll mir ein edles Menü aus Athen in einem verrosteten Blechnapf aus dem 2.Weltkrieg servieren lassen ?!?!?!?!

ja es ist schlimm .
da fragt man sich wofür man einen 16:9 TV hat und ne Dolby Anlage

Mal schauen was das ZDF dazu sagt. Einfach mal anmailen. Das 16:9 Format liegt denen vor. Stellt sich die Frage, ob die sogar so frech sind und das aufzoomen oder ob es auch ein 4:3 Signal gibt.
