My name is Edgar
I live in Barcelona, sorry for the lenguage but for now i'm not able to speak any German, so i hope u can understand !!

1 year ago i got a Medion MD 24011 satellite receiver from a German Supermarket chain here in Barcelona, unfortunatelly i don't know if there is any program or software to upgrade this receiver or any loader program.

I'll be very gratefull if anyone can give me any information in how to update this receiver, we're a group of people here in Barcelona who have the same receiver !!!

Hello Edgar,

I just looked at the medion homepage and it seems to be that your MD24011 is similiar to the 24005 (I have 3 of these)
You can update the software trough the RS232 Port on the back of the receiver. All you need is a plain serial cable (male to female) and the software provided at www.digenius.de (they have an english version)
I recommend you to use the grobi software from http://www.grobi.tv/opencms/produkte/produkt.html?id=699 (scroll down) - it offers a lot more features and I use on all my non-hdd receivers.
Otherwise you can also use the digenius software (3.41 S6 compatible)

I saw that the loader to conect PC/Receiver is not a regular aplication, do i have to install it ?? or it can be run normal after been unziped ??

Ok - my bet - the grobi software is only in german or english - if you prefer spanish go for digenius. If you can live with english get the grobi soft since is offers more features.

i prefer the grobi Firmware, if like you said it's more complete.
now my decoder is a MEDION MD24011 but i looked at the back sticker it has and says MEDION MD24005.
Which firmware i have to use from the groby webpage, and also wich loader ???

You need the loader from digenius - the grobi firmware is based on the one from digenius. I doesnt matter if it says 24005 or 24011 - the firmware works on all new digenius based receivers from model S6 on. (an exception are the hdd models since grobi does not have all oem hdd models listed) There is also a nice free settings editor - tvboxedit - with an uploader found at www.helmutm.de but as far as I now its only available in german. (thats what I use to upload the firmware - it works with the new and old models)

Hallo Christian,

Finally i just had updated the receiver
i have used the tvboxedit loader and i have updated my decoder with the 3.41.13_beta version from the grobi web page.

The only problem is with the lenguage it's only in German
also the only diference i saw so far is the EPG.....
Do you know if there is like a hide menu.... or any edit code menu ??
