Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to record, either strong technical skills...but is it possible that the different symbol rate in the new TP might also have played a role?

 

I’m no certified satellite engineer either! But after almost two decades of satellite tv reception in different continents, it looks like Eutelsat is not treating Kabelio as they would even likes of Al-Arabiya and other ethnic broadcasters by providing their best Transponders!
BisTV/SRG has much better TPs in terms of Power/SNR and more reliable, not to mention likes of BBC Persian/Arabic, etc.

 

I explained, the issue was the overload at Paris site. Eutelsat is informed already. We have disabled per path one spare feed. Since this we have no packet loss anymore at Paris site! Around 20:00h Swiss time. I watched then BBC4 tops of the pops and had not any glitch. Same for ITV1 now since app. 15 min.

 

Without the overload, picture quality has noticeably improved! Meaning that closeup images show details, as a non compressed HD image would do. Hopefully it remains like that.
With the usual setting, picture is less vivid, unfortunately :/

 

It will remain like that. If the sources have no errors, there is no reason to have errors at the output. It looks that Eutelsat decreased the inbound bitrate for our contribution feed, simply don´t understand, maybe an unwanted error or a wrong config. We have informed them to increase again.

Well, if you look at for example ITV1 right now with closeup interviews, on new TP picture is smoother/vivid/more light/more details, at the same time, same ITV1 on 11526 is darker with less details/more compressed.
I know you said earlier that both are fed by same source, but i can see a tangible enhancement on new TP.

 

Sorry to say this, but that´s simply technically impossible, because the ITV1 comes from same Encoder one output on two transponders.

 

Ofc source and encoders are the same, what about more room at new TP to accommodate more bitrate? Meaning that there’s higher ceiling? If that makes sense

 

No the bitrate must be the same. 10.853 is 1:1 copy of 11.526 from all Pids. Only the numbering and names afert different. The bitrate of each channel of 11.526 is equal on 10.853, must be because the source is the same encoder. There is spare bitrate on the TP, thats correct, for later use

 

Regardless, atm visually on a 65inch tv I can see more details and light than usual. For example, text on adverts on ITV1 are glowing and look tangible rather than mix with background.
