I'm still following it live, here in Colombia it's barely 10:05 PM, it's been a good experience, and several titles have been shown that I've grown to like and love after learning about them on this program.

 

The start of Breakfast Club today was strong...
A genre and a song totally out of the ordinary for this show, with a message that wasn't very pleasant given the context of the last few days. And I must admit that the end of the video shocked me a bit, caught me somewhat off guard. (It's a good candidate for MTV Uncensored.)

From what I've read lately on this forum and on the Polish site about the channel's possible changes, I can't help but feel like I did in the last weeks of September 2020, while checking Facebook, when I came across this post from VH1 Latin America:

(Last two weeks on air! Many knew this, but we didn't want to stop confirming it. Starting October 7, VH1 Europe arrives.)

Reading this message, I truly felt as if something that was a part of me was leaving me: on the level of a real person, a great, close friend who was with me, bringing me so much happiness, and now I knew that in two weeks, he would be gone. On October 7th at 6:00 a.m., a Cranberries video started, and within seconds, there was an abrupt switch to what was being broadcast on VH1 Europe. The following days were sad. Despite the simultaneous premiere of MTV 80s, which somewhat compensated for the loss, the void was truly felt (MTV Hits Latino also died around that time).

Hopefully, this isn't the fate of its GSA channel; that it's all a false alarm, that its programming and editors remain in charge for many more years; that all the last-minute changes are a kind of celebration of MTV's 44th anniversary, and that all the speculated conclusions are just a joke or a mistake. Since the beginning of 2023, when by a beautiful coincidence I discovered this channel while browsing the channels I had on my IPTV list, MTV GSA was like reliving part of that great friend who passed away in 2020 (I remember them playing "Don't Phunk With My Heart" by Black Eyed Peas on Night Videos), and since then I haven't left its programming alone for a single day; I want its channel to continue being a daily companion from the other side of the world.
