i am confused ...
i just checked the eurosport2 schedule for 19 feb, no cricket!

do you know anything about it?

its very strange to me that there's no cricket world cup in their schedule
but thhey have the official tv rights in europe (outside uk/ire) for the cricket world cup 2011 !!!

its not only on wiki ... this tv rights info is all over the net, just google ...

i will try to call up eurosport (germany) tomorrow ... is there any phone number?

No, if you have any question abouts Eurosport, you must phone or send a mail to Eurosport...not to sky.

but guess what, the page got vanished today when i wanted to make the phone call

i tried few other phone numbers of eurosport (in munich) which i found in google
but no one picks up the phone !!!

see if you can get to talk them somehow or write a german email to them?

i just called the eurosport germany directly
they are not showing the cricket world cup at all !!!

sounds like there wont be any tv will broadcast it in europe.

Dear All,

That is really shocking! I subscribed euroosport player knowing that Eurosport 2 has the europe wide rights to broadcast the cricket worldcup 2011. It is really misleading! I do not expect such misleading info from broadcasting agencies. Eurosport 2 should make it clear why it is not broadcasting it.

i feel for you mate.
i was about to subscribe sky.de last month, then i though hey i should wait first for eurosport2's programme schedule.

lemme have a wild guess here ... eurosport thought it's gonnna be that annual 20/20 World Cup which they are familiar with and they thought that's one day cricket as well
and as soon as they found out that its gonna all day every day for 45 days they freaked out
i wonder how ICC would allow them to back off just like that?

ever since sky came to germany, one thing i could never understand ... why simply cant sky.de broadcast cricket regularly from their UK branch (Sky Sports 3 HD) ... i mean that wouldnt cost them anything, would it?
german sky doesnt seem to realize that how many subcontinental people (indian, bangladeshi pakistani srilankan nepali), british, irish or australians living in germany would subscribe sky.de on anyday for cricket
so i dont think its the question of cost, its simply their lack of interest or ignorant for a sport which is watched literally by billions!

Eurosport 2 are not misleading anybody. They never said they were going to show the World Cup. In fact, as early as last spring they announced during 20/20 broadcasts that they were definitely not going to show the World Cup. They don't have to make clear anything and they're not responsible for wahat anyone writes on Wikipedia.

i wonder why all the other countries' tv rights info are correct while only europe's eurosport2 is not?
