In den unteren englischen Ligen regt sich Widerstand gegen die Verteilung der neuen Rekordeinnahmen aus den TV-Verträgen der Premier League.

Haupt-Streitpunkt sind die “parachute payments” für Absteiger aus der Premier League. Die PL will den Absteigern im 1. Jahr jeweils 23 Mio. GBP zahlen (7 Mio. mehr als bisher), im 2. Jahr 18 und im 3. und 4. Jahr jeweils 9 Millionen.

Alle anderen Zweitligisten bekommen dagegen bisher nur “solidarity payments” in Höhe von jeweils 2,3 Mio. GBP, Drittligsten erhalten 325.000 und Viertligisten 250.000. Diese Summen will die PL nur um 5% erhöhen.

Der englische Premier-League-Klub West Ham United wird aller Voraussicht nach den Zuschlag für die Nutzung des olympischen Stadions von London erhalten.

Die "Hammers" würden das Stadion mit Laufbahn um knapp 180 Millionen Euro zu einem Fußballstadion umbauen und ab der Saison 2016/2017 den veralteten "Upton Park" in den Ruhestand schicken.

Da das olympische Stadion mit Steuergeldern (500. Mio. Euro) bezahlt wurde, pachten die Londoner ihre zukünftige Heimstätte die nächsten 99 Jahre.

Und noch schöner ist das Westham am 17.4 um 20.45 zuhause gegen Man United spielt und Fulham gegen Chelsea.

Da ich Academy-Member bin, habe ich gerade die offizielle Email der Irons bezgl. des Umzuges erhalten. Angeblich soll man nirgends "schlechter" als in Wembley sitzen, na mal abwarten......... Wenn es nach mir gegangen wäre, hätten die Hammers noch 100 Jahre im Upton Park spielen können (so wie die Gunners noch 100 Jahre im Highbury), aber nach mir altem Traditionalisten geht es eben nicht, sondern danach, wo man am meisten Kohle scheffeln kann :

No seat will be worse than Wembley and at many parts of the ground, for example from some viewpoints behind the goal, they are as close to the pitch as Arsenals Emirates Stadium. A capacity of at least 54,000 seats will see us amongst the top 5 attended clubs in the Premier League.

In addition, we would be moving to one of the best connected stadiums in Europe, set in its own parkland with world class facilities
The move would provide an opportunity to improve our fortunes on every level including opening doors to new revenue streams. Such opportunities would enable further investment in the team and improved training facilities so we can achieve our footballing ambitions

Your feedback has been instrumental and we know we’ll have to create a stunning new home that befits the pride, passion and tradition that the world associates with our great Club. We have now shortlisted three recognised independent organisations to conduct in-depth consultation with you and get your opinions.

We know you have many questions and that is completely understandable. We have reached agreement on terms to the extent that LLDC are happy to commit to building a stadium that we in turn are happy to take to you. We believe it to be the best opportunity for the Club to grow.
We couldn’t present our vision to you until we were certain it could be delivered. The agreement we are signed up to is subject to many things, including planning consent and on our side, consultation with you.

We have spent over three years getting to this stage and we hope that you will share in our vision and ambition for the Club and be as excited as us about our future.

We have so much learning to share with you and I give my word, should you wish to embark on this amazing journey with us, that your new home will be as close to perfect as hard work, modern ideas and love of the club can make it.
