1.) Ich glaube, dass deine Schüssel auf den falschen Satelliten ausgerichtet ist.

Das hatte ich auch zuerst, wo ich den Astra 28,2° eingerichtet habe. Da habe ich auch bei den Sendern, welche aber bei mir schon voreingespeichert waren, ein Singal bekommen. Aber kein Bild und Ton.

Das ist meistens ein Anzeichen, dass deine Schüssel auf eine ander Position gerichtet ist.

2.) Und ein weiteres Problem hatte ich auch schon, als die Schüssel schon auf 28,2 richtig ausgerichtet war:
Mein Receiver konnte auch öfter kein Bild und Ton anzeigen, hatte auch mal PID Probleme. Da habe ich genau den Transponder noch einmal neugescannt, und auf einmal hatte ich wieder ein Bild.

thanks for the correction, this was a mistake by me.

Don't scare me, I've bought recently a Panasonic DSB50 via eBay (I'm still waiting for the delivery).

First of all, thanx for all the tips on what box to buy,

Not really interested in having Sky (maybe later)
what turns me on is receiving free english tele, the BBc will do me.

quickie: buying say a pace BSKYB box, Is a fee or registration required to BSKYB?
or will I be able to point and receive the free stuff without? (point and receive is used loosely, please don`t get technical)
Also what should I look out for when buying a second hand one?

As for pointing at the wrong sat.
next to the 100cm dish, I`ve got a 60cm receiving 19.2, using my handyman technics I pointed the 100cm 9 degrees roughly left from the little ùn, and played a bit at fine tuning till the receiver said BRE = 0 (bit rate error).Elevation I had to play about with as the markings on the back were way off the recommended 27-28 "grade" or whatever its called,(or my pole was not straight)

as far as I know the receiver has no PID "einstellen"
by the way whats PID? shall now wander off and find out what it is.

I can confirm what satcure said above: Don`t buy a Panasonic Digibox, cause there is a major EPG lost from time to time, but otherwise you wouldn`t really need the EPG just for BBC and ITV. It would be a Problem if you would plan to update to the Sky Service any time soon.

The probs with the Panasonic Sky Boxes are not on Panasonic. The Sky Software is just a mess. It could be, that you can get a Panasonic Digibox which hasn`t the new SW Update. I`m not sure if the FTV Boxes also got a SW Update...but a Digibox could be a cheap alternative solution.

Problem sorted chaps

went out and simply bought the cheapest (70 Euros) digi box my local shop had, the sales man says of course it will work, so I says, If it don`t I`ll be back for a refund matey.

Leaving the dish where it was it took all of 10 min. and bingo the misses has eastenders, kids have cbeebies, and my ego has shot sky high.

lesson learnt.... don`t waste all that time on pointing your dish about, If your 99.9 percent sure that your pointing at the right sat. and still not receiving (after checking connections of course) throw that box away.

Anyway I`m off to apply for that job as satelite expert down at the local media markt Ha Ha

Nur zur Kenntnis:
Falls Sie nur die FTA Kanäle wünschen, ist kein Abo notig.
Falls Sie auch ITV*, CH4 u. FIVE wünschen, müssen Sie eine FTV Karte für 20 GBP kaufen.

Ein gebrauchtes Pace BSKYB2600 wäre meine Wahl.

*ITV könnte bald FTA werden.

Hallo an alle, Hi everybody,

mein Schwiegersohn zieht nach Jena und möchte unbedingt weiterhin sein geliebtes BBC empfangen. Kann ich ja verstehen. My son-in-law is moving to Germany/Thuringia/Jena and desperately wants to receive his beloved BBC.

Hat jemand eventuell nähere Infos darüber, z.B. welche Konstellation von Schüssel, LNB und Receiver? Is there anybody out there who could give me more information about the necessary components, i.e. size of dish, make of LNB and receiver?

Oder kennt ihr jemanden in Jena, der schon BBC sieht? Or is there anybody living in Jena and already receiving BBC?

Dort auf "Empfang von BBC/ASTRA2D" gehen. 100cm-Sat-Schüssel sollte man für Jena schon einplanen.

Bitte Anfragen in Zukunft nur in einem Thread stellen. Ansonsten viel Erfolg bei der Installation, ich denke, ab 100cm besser 120 sollte der Empfang stabil funzen.
