But to their sheer horror, when the hit man has done his work he decides that he wants to join their business. He then starts dating the daughter of the man he has just killed.

Palestinian writer-director Elia Suleiman's irreverent dark humour conveys the farcical absurdity of daily existence under Israel by using a series of surreal vignettes of ordinary life in the Occupied Territories.

A man waits at a bus stop for a bus that never comes. Another man throws his garbage into his neighbour's garden, and with a straight face complains about her rudeness when she throws it back. A group of men appear to be beating someone up with baseball bats.

In amongst these daily scenes, a pair of Palestinian lovers in Jerusalem and Ramallah, divided by a guarded checkpoint, try to arrange clandestine meetings with each other, which include parking their cars on either side of the checkpoint so they can hold hands at the border.

This film won two awards at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002. The director also wrote and starred in Chronicle of a Disappearance. [Elia Suleiman, 2002]

Auf Sat.1 kommmen dauernd sinnlose Filme im O-Ton boah!

Mal im ernst: Könnt ihr keine Empfehlungen abgeben zB für TV Slovenija, dort ist ja alles in der Orig.-Sprache.

 

TVPolonia hat auch sowas nur ist der dauernd eingeblendete englische Untertitel recht nervig. Aber nur dadurch versteht man um was es da geht.

Nur bei BBC sind Tips eigentlich recht sinnlos weil da nahezu jeden Tag ein guter Film zu sehen ist. Nur je nach Sender kommt der zu unterschiedlicher Zeit. BBC1 so ab 0h. BBC2 irgendwann Nachmittag gegen 14h und bei 3 und 4 kommt nur gelegentlich was. Da die nur eine Woche anzeigen kann ich nur raten ob die Filme immer am gleichen Tag kommen oder halt in gleichen Zeitabständen oder womöglich ganz und gar unterschiedlich.

Ach so weiss zufällig jemand, warum im Kabel bei TVpolonia Teletext da ist und über digisat nicht??

was bringen empfehlungen für verschlüsselte sender? slowenen können sich das programm sowieso aus der zeitung ziehen....
