I've not been able to find such a setting, sadly.

There are two areas for settings relating to the CI module, which are accessible from the CI Main Menu.

Clicking on the 1st option takes you to the Kabelio module menu...

Clicking on Settings takes you to the Kabelio Settings Screen...

Unsurprisingly there is nothing here relating to energy settings, but I include this for completeness.

Going back to the CI Main Menu and clicking on Option 2 brings you to the Technisat CI settings...

This is where I had expected to find the energy setting you mentioned.

Clicking on 'Options' down the bottom right doesn't provide any additional options.

Summary

I've not been able to find a setting relating to energy saving within the CI menus, or anywhere else in the main menus. I am using the latest available firmware for the Technisat S6 (2.78.0.10).

 

Hm, just spoke with someone internal, who´s familiar with the STBs, indeed Technisat S6 is straight forward nothing special needed. To be honest, I have no clue what the issue might be.
Did you try a factory reset of the Technicast?

 

Two were brand new out of the box this weekend, the 3rd was working fine the last time I tested it 2 weeks ago, and nothing changed in the interim. It's the damndest thing.

I'll wait to see the results of the Edision's which arrive on Friday. If that goes smoothly, I'd be happy to send your colleague one of the Technisats for diagnostics, if that's of interest.

Interessant ist ja, dass hier jemand Probleme in Verbindung mit SAT-IP hat, spirch den subs. Ich kann aus meiner Erfahrung sagen, dass ich mit SAT-IP vergelbich versucht habe das CI+Modul zur Initialisierung und folglich zur Entschlüsselung zu bewegen, keine Chance.

Das Satsignal direkt in den Tuner der AX Triplex enigma Box, und die Sache läuft.

SAT-IP ist also in manchen Punkten offenbar nicht das gelbe vom Ei und schneidet scheinbar am Signal irgendwelche Daten ab, anders ist das nicht zu erklären.

 

Die Sender wurden auf dem alten Transponder abgeschaltet. Es sind in der jeweiligen Sprache Infodias zu sehen.

 

@dam72 some good news. I found the issue with the Technisats.

Your colleague who suggested that the Technisat S6’s were solid, prompted me to give everything one more try.

I made a video demonstrating the problem, which includes…

1. The out-of-box setup of Kabelio with a Technisat S6, from a factory reset (your suggestion)
2. The weird issue I was experiencing, and the interesting symptoms
3. The epiphany of what the ultimate problem was

The video is 8 mins long. TL;DR, the problem appears to be HDCP related, and how the Panaccess module appears to be enforcing HDCP, where other channels aren’t. This was a new one on me, I wasn’t even aware this was possible.

It’s also possible that the problem is something even more esoteric which I haven't considered.

Great Video! This is really helping to explain issues. I can give you a prompt answer on this. Your are absolutly right, the issue seems to be the missing HDCP support on your small monitor.
This HDCP signalling is strange, it´s something around the Technisat. It must be the Technisat, because we are signalling HDCP / C+ flags only on RTL, RTLzwei, VOX, RTL Super, TV24! All other channels have absolutly no restrictions at all.
My assumption goes like this:
In the event the Technisat recognizes there is a CI+ module inserted and Technisat successfully manages the CI+ handshake, the decrypted TV service is flagged within Technisat as a "CI+ Service" and they have hardcoded to require HDCP on the HDMI output for such services, no matter what is signalized in the CI+ user nibbles. This is the only logical technical explanation.
If you have another CI+ module, you can test whether ist behaves the same.

 

Fascinating.

I have a Fransat CI+ card (not module), and some Fransat Pro CI (not CI+) 8 channel modules. I'll give both a try and report back.

Since past Friday there are recurring pixelations on C4 & C5 UK, more in the evenings based on my last night recording of C4. Atm it’s happening more on C5 and less on C4.

 

TV24 wäre mir bis jetzt noch nicht aufgefallen. Verwendet dieser Sender die CI+-Restriktionen nur selten oder im kleineren Umfang als die RTL-Sender ?
