Demons on Our Shoulders

Genre: Drama
BBC1 has wheeled out its big guns to take on the hugely popular Kingdom, and they don't come much bigger than Andy Dalziel (Warren Clarke), the world's most charmless detective. With his perpetually frowning partner Peter Pascoe (Colin Buchanan), Dalziel investigates the shooting dead of a woman by her husband. Straightforward, you might think, but no - the man had previously "killed" his wife on television as part of a trick set up by sinister black-clad illusionist Lee Knight (Richard E Grant). Maybe Knight had made a botched job of snapping the man out of his trance? Soon Dalziel and Pascoe uncover weird secret societies and rituals, and a strong link to the occult. And all the while, the bodies pile up. This is total nonsense, of course, as always when TV dramas go anywhere near the occult. And it's very gruesome.
The story concludes next Sunday.

BBC scrap 'Doctor Who' for 'Eurovision'

The BBC has postponed an episode of Doctor Who on Saturday, May 12, citing that night’s Eurovision Song Contest as the reason. However, it is believed that talent show Any Dream Will Do has escaped the cut and will still be shown.

Coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to begin at 8pm, meaning that the BBC would have to screen its regular Saturday night line-up much earlier to accommodate the annual event. In the end, the corporation opted to postpone Doctor Who rather than show it in a much earlier time slot as has been the case recently.

The Doctor Who episode, entitled ‘42’ and guest-starring Michelle Collins, will now be shown the following week on Saturday, May 19 at an unspecified time.

The BBC has faced much criticism from fans of Doctor Who for its erratic scheduling of the third season. Closely linked to a fixed 7pm Saturday evening time slot during the previous two years, the family drama has been bounced around the schedules in the last month, often being screened earlier and confounding many viewers in the process.

It's definitely HD, one of my colleagues is working on it. The whole thing is run by the European Broadcasting Union, it would be a spectacular failure if they didn't manage to do it in HD.

By the wording of that there looks to be only one feed and that feed is going to be HD and HD only.

Then the EBU member in whatever country can do whatever they like with it for local broadcast.

Toll dass dieser Thread noch so belebt ist!
Ich bin ja im Moment nicht oft im Forum, aber meine Fernsehtipps hole ich mir regelmäßig hier ab!

Als kleine Randnotiz sei darauf hingewiesen, dass die aktuelle Staffel der Sky-Sendung "Badger or Bust" Donnerstags um 23.00cet auf SKY Three wiederholt wird. (Ruth Badger, für alle die es nicht wissen, wurde zweite bei der letzten Staffel "The Apprentice")

und:

Sonntags, ebenfalls auf SKY Three (und somit FTV), die laufende Staffel "Project Runway" (Designer-Suche mit Heidi Klum)...... "Auf Wiedersehen"
